Your Child's Eyes Are Special,

Trust Us To Look After Them

We believe young eyes need special care too. Regular comprehensive eye examinations are important to ensure your child can see properly and to prevent unnecessary problems arising. We recommend that your child has their eyes tested from an early age

It is widely recognised that without good vision, children can experience setbacks that could easily be avoided with simple eye examinations.  It is easy to assume that your child can see properly but this isn’t always the case. It’s never too early to start considering your child’s vision. Early intervention is key also in managing any progression or Myopia or short-sight

We want your child to feel relaxed and comfortable while having their eyes examined, our optometrists go out of their way to make their experience as much fun as possible

Look Out For:

  • Straining their eyes or tilting their head to see better

  • Frequent Eye Rubbing

  • Losing their place while reading, or using a finger to guide their eyes

  • Sensitivity to light and/or excessive tears

  • Falling behind in school

  • Complaining of headaches or tired eyes

  • Eyes don't turn/look in tandem

  • Sitting too close to the TV or holding books too close

  • Avoiding certain activities like sports or reading

  • Closing one eye

  • Avoiding using a computer or tablet because it hurts their eyes

Children play on handheld tablets.

Signs To Watch For

It's often tough to tell whether your child has sight problems, which is why regular eye tests are important. There are a number of things to look out for:

Managing Myopia

Did you know that myopia - commonly known as Short-Sightedness - usually starts and becomes more severe during childhood?

Plus, by 2050, an estimated 5 billion people could be affected?

With new corrective lens technologies, we can reduce the severity of shortsightedness in children by up to 60%

There's No Reason Not To, As It Won't Cost You A Penny

Children’s eye examinations are free on the NHS up to the age of 16, or 19 if they are in full time education.  If following the eye examination they require some help with their vision you will be entitled to an NHS voucher towards the cost of your children’s glasses or contact lenses
